The Good News of Salvation

The Scriptures present the good news of salvation as the victorious declaration of God's limitless grace, sovereign love, and ultimate restoration of all creation (1 Timothy 4:10; Colossians 1:19–20; Ephesians 1:9–10). This message reveals God's perfect righteousness, Christ's all-sufficient sacrifice, and the absolute promise that in Christ, all shall be made alive.

The Scriptures refer to this message using several descriptive terms, highlighting the breadth and triumph of God's redemptive purpose:

The Gospel of God: It originates from the Almighty Father, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth, revealing His righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ for all (1 Timothy 2:3–4; Romans 3:21–22).
The Gospel of Christ: It focuses on Jesus giving Himself as a ransom for all, completely disarming sin and death to reconcile the world to God (1 Timothy 2:6; 2 Corinthians 5:19).
The Gospel of the Glory of Christ: It proclaims Christ’s humility, death, and universal exaltation. God has highly exalted Him so that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:9–11).

Scripture teaches that while humanity is subject to weakness and consequences for wrongdoing, God's punishment is never endless or vindictive. Rather, divine judgment operates as a refining fire to destroy sin while saving the soul (1 Corinthians 3:15). Every account brought before the judgment seat of Christ serves the righteous purpose of correction, alignment, and final reconciliation, ensuring that God eventually becomes "all in all" (1 Corinthians 15:28).

The Three Dimensions of Universal Salvation

Salvation unfolds in stages throughout the ages until all of creation is fully redeemed:

Past (Accomplished At-one-ment): Through the cross, God reconciled the whole world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, establishing peace by the blood of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:19; Colossians 1:20).
Present (The Firstfruits of Faith): Believers who trust in Christ now experience the present joy, power, and transformation of salvation, serving as the firstfruits of God's ultimate harvest (Ephesians 1:13–14; James 1:18; 1 Timothy 4:10).
Future (Consummation & Universal Restoration): In the fullness of time, every created spirit in heaven, on earth, and under the earth will willingly bow and confess Christ, death itself will be destroyed, and God will be all in all (Philippians 2:10–11; 1 Corinthians 15:26, 28; Revelation 5:13).
